Joe Sterck
Joe Sterck is a Brussels-based designer who explores the boundaries between furniture and art.
His creative process often begins with a radical concept or experiment, resulting in a highly unconventional use of materials. By merging unorthodox interpretations with material manipulation, Sterck creates works that are not only functional but also elicit visceral responses.
In doing so, his oeuvre blurs the line between form, function, and artistic intention, opening a nuanced dialogue on their interconnectedness in the contemporary design context.
Alongside his independent practice under his own name, he co-founded Studio Sterck with Mattiece Vantyghem.The studio aims to bring conceptual yet affordable design to a wider audience, independently of galleries.
